Introduction to James
Written around 48 AD, probably around the same time as Paul's letter to Galatia.
With the disagreement going around the churches about Jewish and Gentile issues, and the full understanding of what it means to be Christian and not just Jewish, James writes his letter to help their understanding.
James uses the Sermon on the Mount (quoted approximately 20 times) and also the Psalms & Proverbs to connect the truth of the Old Testament to the New Testament believers in Jesus. He is trying to separate the Christians from Jewish through the difference in their faith and their lives.
